Pagan: Beyond the Palisades

Two players take opposing roles in a tense asymmetrical struggle set in a 16th-century village. One player secretly controls the Witch, who works to complete a ritual of renaturation by brewing potions, improving a familiar, casting enchantments and accumulating Gloom. The other plays the Witch hunter, who investigates suspects, recruits allies, claims locations and seeks to expose and eliminate the Witch. Players assign action pawns to nine villagers each turn to draw and play cards, gain influence and manipulate Gloom. The expansion adds Gloom as a persistent resource that benefits the Witch and a Cleanse mechanic that removes Gloom from cards when fully cleared, changing strategic priorities for both sides.
