Patria Libre

Area-majority game about the Mexican War of Independence, 1810–1821, between Insurgents seeking separation from Spain and Royalists defending New Spain. One to four players lead one of the two sides and compete for victory points by controlling key regions. Order counters and command cards allow players to recruit, move, attack, improve units, collect taxes, gain popularity, build strongholds, and acquire event or character cards. Popularity supports linked orders and strengthens a faction’s cause, while some characters may change sides during play.
