The characters are convicted of breaking Imperial law and sent to Tarkwall, a brutal prison facility where inmates labor in underground uranium mines and endure the threat of the Hole, abusive guards, corrupt officials, and violent prisoners. This adventure and campaign framework provides a map of Tarkwall Prison, numerous non-player characters, and a range of scenarios and adventure seeds for surviving imprisonment and navigating the power struggles within the facility.
