Roman Taverns, ca. 79 AD

A historical reference set of floor plans and descriptions for two Roman thermopolia preserved in Pompeii after the AD 79 eruption. It reproduces layouts, room functions and architectural details based on the thermopolium of Asellina and the larger establishment in the villa of Julia Felix. Plans indicate counter locations, service rooms, storage, guest rooms in Asellina’s small inn, and connections to surrounding house spaces, while accompanying text explains how each area was used in daily service and accommodation. The content targets study and reconstruction of Roman bar and tavern operations rather than gameplay.
