Players act as rival wizard architects who build and rebuild the same city district over five rounds, expanding their districts and acquiring resources like money, influence, and magic. Each round runs on a strict time limit: players arrange polyomino-like tiles that can move and rotate to optimize placement, then purchase new tiles and upgrades between rounds to improve future builds. Monster tokens enter players’ decks and disrupt plans, forcing defensive choices alongside expansion. After five years (rounds), players total victory points earned from buildings, effects, and mitigations to determine the winner.

#bgstats 1st Impressions: Was more fun than I expected. Not a big fan of timer based games, but this worked! In fact, it was the most fun part of the game. I would not call this a heavy game, but it has a lot of ideas around the core tile-laying —like economy, deck building, multiple resources/currencies etc which kinda make a potentially simple game feel a little bloated. I would still play and enjoy it, but this could have been a great gateway plus game where gamers and families both can enjoy but as it stands now, it is too fiddly and too many rules for mostly a simple game. I usually prefer games of this complexity / duration to be have shorter teach time & significantly smaller foot print to see more table time.
