Set in Ireland in 1942, this roleplaying game takes place in a Magdalene Asylum run by the Sisters of Mercy. Players portray women forced to work without pay in a laundry, enduring humiliation, hunger, silence, and physical punishment. Together, the characters decide whether to help one another or act selfishly as they seek escape, struggle to maintain hope, and face sickness, violence, institutionalization, or death. The asylum may also conceal darker truths. Designed for use with any roleplaying system, it includes themes of abuse, neglect, and death and calls for appropriate safety tools during play.
