Talavera & Vimeiro

A Napoleonic wargame covering the two-day Battle of Talavera in July 1809, where Wellesley’s Army of Portugal and Cuesta’s Army of Extremadura face Joseph Bonaparte’s French army in Spain. Players command brigades and maneuver infantry and cavalry formations across the battlefield, with each turn representing approximately thirty minutes. A separate scenario covers the 1808 Battle of Vimieiro, where British forces defeat Junot’s French Army of Portugal outside Lisbon. Both battles use the updated Napoleonic Brigade Series rules and a scale of roughly 180–200 meters per hex.
