The Campfire and Ember, a Binary Star System
A setting booklet detailing a realistic binary star system whose two component systems are close enough to travel between using present-day Earth-level technology. It describes life on Earth-like planets in the habitable zones of a long-lived K5 star and a compact system surrounding a T5 brown dwarf. The booklet covers the effects of two suns on day, night, twilight, moon phases, rainbows, sky colours, and the appearance of the surrounding galaxy. It also provides system statistics, world-building guidance, exploration prompts, suggested planets, measurement units, equations, and a glossary for adapting the system to a science-fiction setting.
