The Charge: The Light Brigade at Balaclava

A solitaire game based on the Battle of Balaclava and the Charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War. Players first manage the battle as Lord Raglan, deploying aides to move British forces, repel the Russian cavalry raid, seek French support, and prepare for the coming charge while managing their reputation and a limited amount of time. The linked charge game uses the outcome of the battle to determine its starting conditions. British cavalry rides down the valley under fire from Russian artillery and infantry, overruns the guns, engages Russian cavalry, and attempts to return while minimizing losses. The two games can also be played separately, with a historical variant included.
