The Eagle and The Star
Campaign game covering the Polish-Soviet War of 1920. Players command either the Red Army, seeking to defeat Poland and advance communism into Europe, or Polish forces defending their country and establishing the Polish-Soviet border. Card-driven play uses each card as a historical event, order, replacement points, or battle modifier. Players issue hidden orders that are revealed according to their characteristics and current initiative, with free bluff orders obscuring their plans. Wooden blocks represent units, while battles use a quick, dice-free combat system with limited randomization. Includes five scenarios.
