The Ether Calculator
In an alternate 1889, adventurers visit an analytical-engine manufacturer in Wroclaw to witness the testing of a machine designed for ether travel. Aboard the ether zeppelin Von Neumann, the engine is intended to break a calculating-speed record and attract international attention. The publicity event becomes a criminal investigation followed by a dangerous maiden voyage. Players use social skills, deduction, quick reflexes, and marksmanship to resolve the unfolding crisis. An appendix details analytical engines in this setting and provides optional rules for using them in play.
