The Investigator
This roleplaying supplement presents investigators as characters who solve problems through observation, research, deduction, and scientific knowledge rather than brute force. It supports modern or near-modern heroes transported into fantasy settings and explores how their education and technology interact with a more primitive world. The supplement also provides guidance for running mystery adventures, including gathering clues, handling failed rolls without halting an investigation, avoiding investigations that overwhelm a campaign, and using advanced scientific knowledge. Rules for Progress Levels help define the technological development of the setting.
