Players lead a fellowship across the Ettenmoors as their heroes travel through bleak, rocky hills while avoiding or confronting roaming Trolls. The scenario focuses on survival and navigation rather than unraveling a larger conspiracy: objectives emphasize outlasting encounters and managing the threats of the troll-fells. The set adds sixty cards that expand deck options, including a new Tactics hero, Signals, Mounts, Ents, Valour effects, and a Tactics side quest. Players use card play, questing, and combat to protect the fellowship, bolster defenses, and adapt strategies to survive the harsh terrain and towering enemies.
