A religious figure serves as the occasional objective voice of the absent Black Monk, offering absolution while exploiting the others’ fears. In an abandoned abbey beside the monastery, he leads convocations, midnight vigils, prayer circles, and sacred rites, maintaining an atmosphere of ritual and uncertainty despite having no actual power.
