The War of the Worlds: France
A solitaire board wargame set during the Martian invasion of Earth, with players commanding French forces against invading Tripods. The game system controls the Martians while players plan operations, build defenses, move units, and fight battles. French forces are inexpensive but less skilled, leading to larger engagements and heavier casualties. They also pay more to move units during the Production step, while each Martian Wave brings four Tripods. Games take about an hour to play.
