Tiny Towns: Tiny Trees

2020 · Expansion for Base-game

Tiny Towns: Tiny Trees

Micro-expansion that adds seeds and trees to the base city-building game. At setup each player places a seed token on one empty space of their grid. Building on that space immediately grants a free resource of the player’s choice. If a player ends the game with the seed as the sole remaining empty space on their board, the seed becomes a 2-point tree. Integrates with standard play and alters placement choices by offering a small late-game scoring option and an early-game resource benefit.

Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

When do I place my seed, and where can it go?

After normal Tiny Towns setup, each player places their seed in an empty square on their board (p. 1).

Does the seed’s square count as empty during the game?

Yes. Each round, treat the square containing your seed as empty for constructing and placing resources (p. 2).

What happens if I build on the square with my seed?

Immediately place a resource of your choice in your town, then return the seed to the box (p. 2).

What if my seed is on an empty square at the end, but it isn’t my only empty square?

That square does not count as an empty square for scoring purposes (p. 2).

What happens if the seed is in my only empty square at the end?

It grows into a tree worth 2 points, and that square does not count as an empty square for scoring purposes (p. 2).
