This game contains two complete solitaire wargames covering major battles fought during the Russo-Turkish War of 1806–1812 for control of Rousse, a key Danube port in Wallachia. One scenario depicts the battle of 22 June 1811, as Russian infantry and artillery delay an advancing Ottoman army near the present-day Bulgarian-Romanian frontier. The other covers the battle of 2 October 1811, in which General Kutuzov’s surprise march surrounds much of the Ottoman army on the northern bank of the Danube. Players command forces, maneuver units, and resolve combat to recreate the contrasting outcomes of the two engagements.
