Arsuf: Lionheart vs. Saladin

A historical wargame depicting the Battle of Arsuf during the Third Crusade, as Richard the Lionheart leads a Crusader army south along the coast while Saladin prepares an attack near Jaffa. One side commands heavily armored men-at-arms and elite European cavalry; the other relies on mobile Arab foot and horse archers. Players maneuver formations, use archers to disrupt enemy lines, and commit heavy troops to close combat. Leaders improve combat strength and help restore broken units, while morale and pursuit determine whether weakened formations rally or collapse.
