Wonderful game. I love the way you can earn or buy upgrades for your action cards. Combat is fun, since it's fairly low risk. For losing in combat, you remove just 1 plastic figure (usually a wimpy unit) and then the rest of your force respawns at another of your bases. This increases skirmishes in a fun way. The layout of the board is also very well thought out. Movement between areas needs to be planned out, and there are natural defense points that you discover. The game plays smoothly, and the thrust of it is each turn a new achievement is revealed in a twilight imperium sort of way. Players compete to complete them in addition to the points they get for holding regions of the board. Meanwhile, the hero and damsel from the video game are wandering around the board, and you have to avoid getting punched by them. It's a really fun and unique take on a video game inspired board game. I'm not convinced 4 player mode is more than an afterthought. I would love to see a proper multi-player incarnation of these mechanics.
