Bridge

Four players form two partnerships and play trick-taking rounds with a standard 52-card deck. The hand begins with an auction in which partners bid to communicate hand strength and to set a contract specifying a trump suit (or no trump) and a target number of tricks. If a partnership wins the auction, one player becomes declarer and their partner’s hand is placed face-up as the dummy; the declarer then tries to take the required number of tricks by playing both hands. The opposing pair defends by trying to prevent the contract from succeeding. Duplicate play compares results across different tables to emphasize skill over deal luck.
