Dice Settlers
Players lead a group of settlers into a New World, founding homesteads, gathering resources and expanding influence across a modular map. Play centers on dice-pool building: each turn players draw and roll dice from personal bags, then assign results to actions such as exploring tiles, constructing buildings, harvesting or trading resources, recruiting families and developing technologies that grant new abilities. Area control and competing claims affect scoring as settlements and roads are placed. Variable tech cards, changing board layout and multiple resource paths create different strategic options each play.

Evan4.6 In this game players are bag building with dice. You draw dice from your bag, roll them, use a few abilities to manipulate the result you got and then you get to resolve two actions. There's some nice tension here as your actions get better the more matching dice you spend on them, but you might roll lots of production dice but need to do other things. It's a little point salady, where you have to choose to spend your actions farming and then selling goods, or jockeying for board position. Many hex tiles on the map have a majority scoring, or some special bonus for the person with the most claim markers. There's also an action where if you have three more claim markers than any other player, you can remove them to permanently lock in the tile for yourself. To assist this, there's an attack action which removes your opponent's pieces and replaces them with yours, but it's all fine because most tiles give second place and the pieces that got removed go back into your personal supply, so they can simply be replaced elsewhere on your next turn if you like. I had a good time with this game and I'd like to see more. That being said, there are some really silly component issues. The bags you use are too small for the size dice you have in terms of being able to comfortably reach your hand in and remove dice. Also, the copy I have comes with both plastic claim markers and wooden ones, and some of the plastic ones are so large they don't fit comfortably on the tile. Very strange. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
