Oligarchs and democrats compete for power, while each player’s role remains secret. Democrats seek votes, enter government, and earn government points; oligarchs pursue the abolition of democracy instead. Anti-democratic play lowers the democracy index, unlocking increasingly harsh action cards. Populist tactics can manipulate voters, but may also bring democracy closer to collapse.
