Dionysia

2025 · Card Game

Dionysia

Players compete as rival playwrights at an ancient Athenian festival, building a three-act play from a shared pool of scene cards. On a turn, a player drafts one of three revealed scenes and either starts a new act (up to three) or places the scene at the top (upstage) or bottom (downstage) of an existing act; the topmost scene in each act becomes that act’s key scene and may trigger an immediate effect. Each scene carries dramatic-element icons used to form scoring patterns in rows and columns across the three acts. Once both players have three acts of three scenes, each act is scored according to its key scene’s scoring rules and the icon patterns, and the player with the most divine favor wins.
