Duodecim Scriptorum
An ancient Roman race game played on a board marked with twelve lines, which could also be drawn in the dirt. It resembles backgammon but uses tetrahedral knucklebones rather than six-sided dice, and all pieces begin off the board. Players move pieces according to their rolls and must roll exact values to take them off the board, following rules closer to the Acey-Ducey variant.
