Players guide the brigade through twenty minutes of combat against Russian artillery, gunners, and cavalry, then attempt to retreat with the surviving troops while pursued back toward the British lines. Key historical figures, including Lord Cardigan, Captain Nolan, and Captain Morris, are represented alongside other details of the event, including the dogs Boxer and Jemmy.
