Players take the roles of desperate survivors crossing a dark, deadly insect world. In each turn, they choose a scavenging pile and reveal cards, pressing their luck for useful actions and opportunities while risking peril, which discards the revealed cards and causes an affliction. Players must burn cards to feed themselves or suffer starvation. Afflictions gained from horrifying encounters threaten survival and impose lasting effects, while careful card use and interaction can help mitigate bad luck. Scenarios vary the level of cooperation, from fully cooperative play to individual survival and competitive racing.
