Hapsburg Eclipse: The Great War in Eastern Europe 1914-1918

Solitaire operational-level wargame that puts the player in charge of Austro-Hungarian high command (with Germany’s staff influencing decisions as the campaign progresses). Players manage fronts from 1914–1918 in Eastern Europe, fighting major Russian offensives, suppressing Serbia, and responding to new crises in Romania, the Balkans, and on the Italian border. Gameplay emphasizes movement, combat resolution, reinforcement allocation, and political stability as nationalities within the empire may revolt under strain. German assistance grows over time and alters available options, and scenarios support linked play with a companion game to recreate a broader two-front Central Powers experience.
