Inis: Legendary Edition

2025 · Card Game

Inis: Legendary Edition

Players vie to be elected ruler of a mythical island by expanding clans, claiming territories, and gaining followers through exploration and negotiation. Gameplay centers on drafting and playing cards to perform actions, managing a hand, and timing passes; bluffing and reading opponents influence control of regions and assemblies. Players score influence via territory control, leadership figures, and fulfilled objectives, while seasonal and expansion elements introduce new events and options for longer campaigns.

Fantastic. Simple and tremendously deep at the same time. Expansion modules are relatively insignificant and don't add much to the game but it's just so great you won't give a damn and will want to throw everything in. Absolutely fantastic. Beautiful, very evocative art. Guess what: it's not AI. Yeah.

Haven't played with the expansions yet, but the base game was a fantastic experience. There's something very satisfying about the games closed draft, you keep drafting the same few cards (something I thought wasn't gonna be fun), so you know exactly what cards you can get and exactly what cards your opponents have, finding new terrain tiles is exciting and the fight for the territories is always tight. I just don't know what to make of the epic (red) cards yet, they feel to Random and too swingy, contrary to the thigter less random feel of the rest of the game
