Nanolith
Players take on four distinct characters in a grim cyberpunk setting, exploring scenarios from two linked books: one presenting tactical encounters with maps and comics, the other advancing a branching prose narrative. Play alternates between cooperative dungeon-crawl encounters and storybook sections, with scenario outcomes, collected items and player choices directing which narrative passages are read. Characters use pools of six-sided activation dice for movement, item use and special skills, while an aggro mechanic lets players manipulate rolled values to ensure key abilities fire at a cost. Repeated use of nanomachines can trigger a powerful, character-specific nanoshock ability but increases the risk of permanent harm, forcing trade-offs between short-term power and long-term survival.
