Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

Do I keep the original cards and tiles when I add the corrected ones?

No. The corrected Thomas MacMillian, Miss Eleanor Brassington, and Alexander Pinder cards replace their original versions, as do the corrected Housekeeper’s Room tiles. The corrected Miss Brassington grants 0 VP, and both sides of the corrected Housekeeper’s Room grant 1 VP (pp. 1–2).

Do I have to use the new West Terrace tiles?

No. The new West Terrace tiles may optionally replace the base-game West Terrace tiles. The new tile is not a monument (p. 3).

How do I add the Business Room to the game?

Add the Business Room tiles to Obsession; they are available when initially populating the Builders’ Market. Its tea-trade investment details are on the Unique Rules Reference card (p. 2).

What changes do I make when playing solo with Upstairs, Downstairs servants?

The solo player drafts a servant when choosing their family board and uses the new pass rule that allows hiring servants on a pass turn. All other aspects of solo play remain as in the base game (p. 4).

Can I use the Dynamic AI card with or without servants?

Yes. The Dynamic AI card can be used for the base solo game with or without Upstairs, Downstairs servants; it preferentially scavenges valuable tiles, making the opponent more difficult (p. 4).
