Rolit

1997 · Abstract Strategy

Rolit

Players compete to control more spaces on a grid by placing and rolling four-colored, ball-shaped pieces. Each placement can convert adjacent pieces to the placed color by rolling them to the correct face rather than flipping, so area control shifts through local conversions. Supports two to four players; multiplayer games introduce more chaotic swings because players may place any available color even when none of their color are on the board. The rules emphasize placement strategy and tactical conversions on a compact, abstract board.
