The Romans
Players guide Rome from a small Italian kingdom through the Republic and into an expanding empire, while facing enemy incursions and the eventual pressure of barbarian invasions. Each player manages Senators who can serve in the capital’s buildings to gain promotions, recruit legions, collect revenue, develop cities, fortifications and fleets, and score victory points. Senators can also become Generals and lead armies across a personal map board to expand Roman territory. Multiple scoring routes, shared dice rolls, simultaneous play and recovery mechanisms keep the contest balanced through its dramatic conclusion.
