Timespan

Players guide a civilization across five rounds from the stone age to the space age, progressing through successive ages in about 90 minutes. Each round has an exploration phase for drafting cards and discovery tiles and for moving camels to visit other players’ wonders, followed by a simultaneous action phase where players place up to four cards on a personal timeline and activate them with workers. Activations generate resources, culture, science, ships, flight and space advancements that unlock wonders, technologies and rare luxury resources; luxuries can upgrade card effects and provide ongoing income when moved into heritage. The game emphasizes exploration and engine-building rather than warfare and supports asymmetric civilizations and customizable technology boards.
