2019 · Expansion for Base-game
Wingspan: European Expansion
Adds a new region of European bird species with unique powers and scoring opportunities. Players draw and play bird cards with new abilities such as end-of-round effects, increased player interaction, and benefits from excess food or cards, integrating them into the base game's decks. New bonus cards and components are included to expand scoring options and manage a larger collection of birds. Includes an extra bird tray, additional eggs and food tokens, and an updated scorepad for multiplayer and solo use.

Mohasz7.9 Not essential, since the base game already had a huge amount of cards. The new green cards and round goals are nice to have, though.
Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
Do I have a limit to how many bird cards I can hold in my hand?
There is never any hand limit — you may hold as many bird cards as you like and hands may be private or public (see page 9).
When do I activate brown (activated) bird powers — only on my turn or at other times too?
Activate brown powers when you take that habitat’s action on your turn, resolving right-to-left; some bird powers are labeled “once between turns” and can trigger in response to other players’ actions as described on the card (see page 2 and examples on pages 6 and 8).
If all the dice in the birdfeeder show the same face (or the feeder is empty), can I reroll before taking food?
Yes — if the birdfeeder is empty you refill all 5 dice, and if all dice in the tray show the same face you may first throw all 5 dice back into the birdfeeder before gaining food (see page 2).
Can I spend food that’s been cached on a bird card to pay costs?
No — once a food token is cached on a bird card you cannot spend it; cached food scores 1 point each at the end of the game (see page 7).
When and how are end-of-round goals scored, and how are ties handled?
End-of-round goals are scored at the end of each round by placing an action cube on the goal board; goal types are listed on page 3, and for majority/tiered goals ties are resolved by adding the values of the tied and next places and dividing by the number of players, rounded down (see pages 2 and 3).
If a bird’s power affects all players (e.g., “each player gains 1 food” or “all players draw 1”), what order do players resolve that effect in?
Follow the card’s instructions; many effects resolve starting with the current player and proceeding clockwise, but some cards specify different order (for example, the hummingbird owner chooses who gains first — see page 6 — and multi-player draw effects start with the current player and proceed clockwise — see page 9).
