ATS Westerplatte: Opening Shots of World War 2

Set on the Westerplatte Peninsula in the Free City of Danzig on 1 September 1939, this two-player wargame depicts the German assault on the Polish Military Transit Depot that opened World War II. Players command the Polish garrison or the attacking German forces, maneuvering troops through forests, trenches, barricades, and fortified outposts while resolving attacks by infantry, artillery, engineers, naval guns, and Stuka dive bombers. The Polish side seeks to hold the depot against repeated assaults, while the German side attempts to overcome the defenses before time runs out. The game includes a detailed map of the peninsula and the counters needed to play.
