Hoplomachus: The Lost Cities

A hex-based tactical board game set in a gladiatorial arena where one to three players represent ancient, lost cities competing for favor on Rome’s doorstep. Players manage a hand of gladiator units and tactic chips, taking turns to deploy, move and activate fighters while using chips to assist actions and influence outcomes. Champions begin inactive and must gain crowd favor to become combat-capable, so players contest crowd-favor zones, fight beasts, and eliminate enemy tacticians to limit opponents’ options. Play emphasizes chip and unit management, area control, tactical adaptation to opponents’ strategies, and progressive activation of more powerful forces.
