Players take the role of emerging industrial conglomerates in Meiji-era Japan, expanding from traditional silk workshops into diversified networks of companies. On each turn players invest in industries, develop technologies, build rail connections, produce and ship goods for export or domestic demand, and vie for area majority across the Japanese islands. The game emphasizes economic planning and territorial influence: selecting industries, allocating resources, and timing actions to grow corporate power and secure control of key regions.
