The Pyramid's Deadline

Players act as royal architects in ancient Egypt, racing to build the largest tomb before the king’s time limit runs out. On each turn, players roll dice to obtain building pieces and resources, then place those pieces to assemble multi-level pyramids on their personal tableau. The game mixes spatial puzzle placement with negotiation and timing: players may trade or bargain for pieces, decide when to push for a bigger tomb, and manage the risk that exceeding the deadline brings severe penalties. Scoring rewards size and structure while the game clock and dice outcomes shape strategy and interaction.

In this game you roll a die and try to build your pyramid with the pieces the die tells you to use. The pieces are in limited supply, and there's some tension as to if you go wide or tall, because you won't win without finishing. It's an ok filler, but it's very limited in the number of game states you'll see. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
