The Quest for El Dorado: Heroes & Hexes

Return to the jungle with new demonic terrain, cursed spaces, and expanded deck options. Players navigate a modular map that now includes double-sided tiles marked with demon spaces; landing on those spaces forces a revealed curse token that imposes penalties such as forced discards, skipped moves, or a disruptive demon card shuffled into the deck. Some demon spaces offer free tunnel movement across a tile, creating a tactical trade-off between short-term gain and long-term hindrance. The set adds new cave tokens (for use with the base game’s Caves variant), four types of expedition cards that can enter the market, and one familiar per player that grants a repeating ability plus a one-shot bonus. Three tavern locations let players recruit a hero into their deck. Six medium-to-hard map setups and rules for custom maps are included.

Kural soruları

Ludoya kural asistanı tarafından kural kitabından yanıtlandı.

Can I buy a card in the middle of my movement, or only after I'm done moving?

You may buy up to 1 card during Phase 1 whether you moved or not — play cards to move and/or play cards to buy a single new card, which is placed on your discard pile and cannot be used that turn. (pages 3–4)

Can I play several cards together to meet a landscape space's high power requirement?

No — you cannot combine multiple cards to move onto a landscape space; a single played card must match the space's symbol and have power equal to or greater than the space (you can use leftover power from that same card to continue moving). (page 3)

How do rubble and base camp spaces work — do the cards I play get discarded or removed from the game?

Rubble and base camp spaces require you to play a number of cards equal to their symbols (card identity doesn't matter); cards played to enter a base camp space are removed from the game instead of going to your discard pile. (page 3)

What do I do when I need to draw but my draw pile is empty?

Draw as many cards as possible, then shuffle your discard pile to form a new draw pile and draw the remaining cards until you have four in hand. (page 5)

How do blockades work, and how do they affect the tie-breaker?

The first player who wants to pass a blockade must overcome its power requirement by playing cards like for movement and then keeps that blockade tile; at game end ties are broken first by who has the most blockades, then by the highest-power blockade. (page 5)

When can I play purple action cards and what do jokers do?

Purple action cards may be played at any time during your turn (while moving or while buying) and follow their instructions (cards marked ✖ are removed after use); white joker cards let you choose one of the three symbols when you play them. (page 8)
