Victory in the Pacific

A strategic wargame that simulates naval and air operations across the Pacific during World War II. Players maneuver fleets, land-based aircraft and marines between 13 sea areas, choosing whether ships act as patrollers (which can claim control after combat) or as raiders. Combat resolves in day or night phases determined by dice, with air power dominating daytime battles and ship gunnery prevailing at night. Engagements continue in rounds until one side retreats or is destroyed, and areas are awarded Points of Control to the side with remaining patrolling ships. Play emphasizes fleet movement, carrier development, and timing of offensives as the balance of power shifts over the course of the game.
