Goldland

Els jugadors exploren una zona salvatge a la recerca d’un temple perdut, construint gradualment el mapa a partir de llosetes robades a l’atzar. Cada jugador gestiona una motxilla amb eines, provisions, mercaderies per intercanviar i tresors; el nombre d’espais buits determina la velocitat de moviment, de manera que portar menys coses permet viatjar més de pressa. Algunes ubicacions proporcionen objectes quan es porta l’equip necessari, mentre que les llosetes d’aventura requereixen gastar objectes específics per entrar-hi. Els marcadors de campament faciliten tornar a visitar les llosetes d’aventura completades, fomentant els trajectes d’anada i tornada mentre els jugadors reuneixen provisions i obren una ruta cap al temple. Arribar abans al temple proporciona una bonificació més gran.

Goldland is a Kramer and Kiesling (K&K) game where you get a single pawn, and you walk him around the board as it's revealed completing challenges and collecting treasures. You lay tiles down as you explore and are rewarded points for having completed the most of each type of challenge, and you get some bonuses for getting to the furthest end of the board first. You beat the challenges by discarding the appropriate gear from your backpack, and you have limited space. In fact, the more stuff you carry, the slower you get moving around the board which is an interesting dynamic. Ultimately, this game was too random due to not knowing what to stockpile vs what tiles would be revealed by other players. This style of game is better executed in both The Cave and Lost Valley: The Yukon Goldrush 1896.

The idea sounds good, but I hated being stuck in one spot. Lost Valley does the same thing, but in a much more enjoyable way.
