Lascaux

Press your luck in a cave-painting auction set among the animal drawings of the Lascaux caves. Each round, cards showing six animal types and six colors are revealed, and players secretly choose a color to collect. Players bid with stones, or pass to take the stones and place their marker on the marker pile. In turn order, players claim cards of their chosen color, and score points at the end for having the most of each animal.

Lascaux is a simple card game that uses a familiar bidding system (especially to No Thanks! fans) to motor a game that plays quickly and is simply enjoyable for up to five players. Using a unique auction system, players attempt to win cards with pictures of different animals to score the most points. I have to say I was impressed with how enjoyable the game played - how fun it was to bid, outguess the opponents, and collect cards.
