Aelderman

Players take the roles of ambitious merchants in the medieval Hanseatic League vying for the highest civic office. Through a limited-action-point system, they trade goods across a sea map, build and upgrade city buildings, and acquire privileges at the Hanseatic Convention to increase wealth and influence. Influence majorities on the trade routes, reputation in the city, held privileges, and luxury goods generate council votes and victory points. The player with the most council support becomes the league’s leading official and wins the game.
