Age of Comics: The Golden Years

Players run a comic book publishing company during the Golden Age of comics (1938–1954), competing to accumulate the most fans, publish profitable titles, and build the strongest portfolio. Each round players place editors on six publishing tasks—hire, develop, ideas, print, sales, and royalties—to manage staffing, generate ideas, produce issues, and collect income. Printing a comic requires money, two matching idea tokens, and a cover plus writer and artist cards; a comic’s value equals its creatives’ values. A fan chart tracks readership and awards victory points based on ranking at the end of each round. Play lasts five rounds, and the highest total victory points wins.
