Attika

Construct a classical Greek city-state using resources on the board and cards. Place temples, theaters, harbors, vineyards, and other buildings across the peninsula while competing for the best locations and access to natural resources. Plan building sequences to reduce costs, block opponents, and expand efficiently. The first player to connect two shrines or construct all 30 buildings wins.

This is an ok game that relies heavily on flip luck, and has one big design problem. The general idea of the game is you build a semi-random board, and then players flip a few of their building tiles. The goal of the game is to be the first player to build all their buildings, and there's a cute technology chain where certain buildings when placed next to other buildings get built for free. The problem is to get more buildings, you flip them randomly. This is necessary otherwise there would be "best paths" though the game, but which building flips when is so important to the game, that it hurts the idea that strategy is involved in making your building choices. Not to mention, in order to prevent players from sort of carving out there own areas and not interacting with anyone, the game says there's an alternate way to win by connecting corners with a contiguous chain of your buildings. This is pointless, as there's no rule against having players start their buildings next to these corners, so blocking off corners is trivial to the point of making this rule useless. It's a nice idea for a game, but it just doesn't work. :nostar: Art and components :nostar: Innovative mechanics :nostar: Handles 5 or more players :nostar: Good with different player counts :star: Low time between turns :star: Comfortable complexity :nostar: Re-playability :star::nostar::nostar: Enjoyment

Carrera para conseguir el objetivo. Abstracto y un poco soso. No me dice nada.
