Grant Takes Command

A simulation of the 1864 Overland Campaign and related Virginia operations, covering marches, assaults, and defensive maneuvers from Wilderness to Cold Harbor as well as actions in Bermuda Hundred and the Shenandoah Valley. Players command Union or Confederate forces in daily turns, maneuvering division-, brigade- and regiment-level units on hex maps derived from period state and county charts. Twelve scenarios range from one-day battles and cavalry raids to linked grand-campaign games that combine maps from other volumes in the series. The game includes two large mapsheets, multiple countersheets, scenario and rule booklets, off‑map displays and charts, and uses one-day turns and 2,000 yards-per-hex scale.
