Oranges & Lemons

Players run small transport and trading operations in early 18th-century London, starting with two workers, minimal storage and the ability to carry only what one person can move. Through worker placement actions they acquire upgrades — a hand cart, a horse and cart and eventually a ship — and visit locations and activities inspired by the Oranges and Lemons rhyme. Players buy and sell goods (lemons, pancakes, bricks, pans), lend money, fulfil export contracts at the docks, engage in politics, invest in a primitive stock market and sponsor risky East Indies expeditions. Multiple strategic paths exist; players balance worker allocation, cargo capacity and investments to accumulate wealth and prestige.
