Pessoa

Players take the roles of four of Fernando Pessoa’s heteronyms and alternate between the metaphysical interior of Pessoa’s mind and locations around Lisbon to gather inspiration. On each turn players place their heteronym workers, visit cafés and bookshops, expand their library, and use acquired resources to compose poems that score victory points. The game uses a worker-placement engine with a twist: every player is a distinct heteronym while also representing facets of the same person, creating shared and conflicting opportunities for action. Optional modules add extra strategic layers and historical notes in the rulebook link mechanisms to the real-life figure and his literary practice.
