Players embark on a campaign of nautical scenarios, following a prologue and scenario-specific objectives. Each turn begins by revealing order cards from an event deck that impose goals, request certain crew or trades, and grant bonuses when fulfilled. Orders have time limits and new events are drawn as the scenario progresses, with the scenario’s conclusion determined by which orders are completed. Gameplay adapts to competitive or cooperative play as players recruit crew, trade with incoming ships, and manage timing and resources to meet evolving orders.
