Res Arcana Duo

Two players draft mages and build with five essences—Life, Death, Elan, Calm, and Gold—to craft artifacts and claim monuments and Places of Power. Play proceeds in short rounds: collect essences, take one action per turn (place an artifact, claim a monument or Place of Power, discard a card for resources, or activate a component), and pass to exchange items and draw. A new two-player drafting method and a compact set of artifacts streamline play; there are no attack actions. The game ends when a player reaches the victory threshold, typically after 4–6 rounds.
